Introducing the Hyundai Santa Cruz Truck Concept for Billings and Lockwood, MT Drivers

March 5th, 2020 by

The Hyundai Santa Cruz is unique, making it a concept of its very own—it would be an exciting truck for Billings and Lockwood, MT drivers. The Santa Cruz is a pick-up truck, but it’s not quite a full-size. A diesel engine, yet minimal carbon footprint, and a unibody design make this one of a kind concept. An official release hasn’t been announced, but in the meantime here’s what we know the concept is likely to offer drivers.

Inspiration and Price

Hyundai customers have demanded a crossover SUV that is not afraid to be dirty for storing cargo. A full pick-up truck is typically what drivers choose for messy drives and gritty cargo. Pick-ups, however, are not attractive to many customers because of the fuel economy costs, size, and starting price tags. To meet customers in the middle, Hyundai has the Santa Cruz concept. Hyundai aims to build the vehicle at its Alabama plant, which can keep costs low. It is estimated that the Santa Cruz would be extremely affordable around the mid $20,000 range.

With a hexagon shaped grille with lined headlights, and incorporated fog-lamps, the Santa Cruz remains rugged on the outside. It will be easy to haul cargo thanks to its three tie-down hooks on the fender. The bed itself is short, but it’s still spacious enough to haul plenty of cargo. A smaller designed truck makes it easy to park in tight spaces too. Don’t underestimate its size for passenger carrying—Hyundai idealizes making this truck for a total of five passengers.

Expected Powertrain

If taken into production, then it would be speculated to have a 2.0L four-cylinder diesel powered engine. It would come with an output of 190 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy specs are aimed toward the upper 30 mpg range.
